VOICE & DATA

    Connectors:
USB specifies two types of connectors (Series A and Series B) in order to protect the bus from improper hookup (e.g., connecting one downstream port back to another, etc.) and to prevent end-user confusion. Upstream connectors are Series A (i.e., on USB hubs) while downstream connectors use Series B. This allows end users to easily attach the correct connectors to peripherals and ports.
    USB Connectors:

Series A Plugs and receptacles are used for those devices on which the external cable is permanently attached to devices such as keyboard, mouse or hub.

Series B Plugs and receptacles are used for those devices that require an external detachable cable such as printers, scanners or modems.

    Applications:
  1. Desktop PC's
  2. Peripherals
  3. Keyboard/Mouse
  4. Digital Consumer Electronics
  5. Telephone, ISDN, PBX's
